Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) for dexterity and quick thinking

While most martial arts emphasize strength or dexterity while standing up or kneeling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu takes the fighting to the ground. This martial art works on the principle that even the smallest person can take down the biggest of opponents by using proper techniques and leverage to bring them to the ground, and then use chokes as well as joint locks to defeat them.

Our coach has over 18 years experience in BJJ and competition. Coach Johnson was also a successful MMA fighter.

With Mixed Martial Artists adopting BJJ, has become a worldwide phenomenon. Based on the Kodokan Judo ground fighting techniques, BJJ is also an effective combat sport and a self-defense system for everyone, especially those of a smaller physical stature.

BJJ is a martial art that can be customized to your strength

Whether you're lean or heavily built, BJJ focuses on bringing the fight to your terms. Be it grappling, throwing or locks, this fighting style features a large arsenal of locks, throws and chokes that are designed to bring down even the biggest of opponents. At the same time, the mental disciple and the physical demands of this style makes it ideal for teenagers, children, women, and men who want to take their fitness to a whole new level.
